Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo 2025: A Big Weekend in Charters Towers
We’re only just back, the truck’s unloaded, and there’s still a bit of red dust hanging around — but the Charters Towers Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo on 18th and 19th July 2025 was an absolute ripper.
Two big nights. A solid crowd. And the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why events like this matter so much. From the moment we rolled into town and started setting up, it was clear the weekend was going to be busy — and it didn’t slow down once.
Set Up Near the Bar — and It Didn’t Stop
We set ourselves up outside near the bar area, and from early on, there was a steady flow of people moving past. Cold drinks in hand, music rolling across the grounds, and plenty of movement between events.
It wasn’t rushed or chaotic — just constant. People stopping in, having a look, trying things on, and settling in for a chat. Exactly how a rodeo stall should feel.
We had a big crowd through the stall across both nights — plenty of good yarns and plenty of gear heading home with new owners.
A Busy Stall All Weekend
From Friday afternoon through to late Saturday night, there was always someone at the stall. Families wandering through together, station hands ducking over between events, locals catching up and bringing mates back for a second look.
There was a real mix of people, but the conversations were much the same — what gear works, what lasts, and what’s worth buying once instead of replacing every season. That’s always a good sign.
What Everyone Was Picking Up
It didn’t take long to see what people were gravitating towards over the weekend. These were the crowd favourites:
Oilskin Coats
Our oilskin coats were the standout across both nights. With the cooler weather well and truly here, plenty of people were thinking ahead to early starts and long days outside. Once they tried them on and felt the weight and build, the decision was easy.
Jumpers & Hoodies
As soon as the sun dipped, jumpers and hoodies started moving quickly. Easy to throw on, comfortable to wear, and good for everything from the rodeo grounds to camp and everyday life back home.
Stubby Coolers
Being set up near the bar, stubby coolers were always going to be popular — and they didn’t disappoint. Practical, easy, and useful straight away.
Belt Buckles
Our belt buckles were another strong seller over the two nights. Solid pieces that people picked because they’re built to be worn, not just sit in a drawer.
A Rodeo Done Right
Outside the stall, the rodeo delivered exactly what people came for — bulls and broncs keeping the crowd on edge, barrels running fast and clean, juniors having a real crack, and live music carrying through the grounds once the lights came on.
There was a great energy across both nights — people enjoying themselves, backing the event, and making the most of a country weekend in Charters Towers.
Why We Love Being There
Weekends like this are a big part of why we keep showing up to events. Being able to meet people face to face, answer questions, and see the gear in real hands makes a huge difference. It’s where conversations happen naturally and where trust gets built the right way.
The Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo is exactly the kind of event we’re proud to be part of — well supported, well run, and backed by a community that cares about keeping it strong.
Already Looking Ahead
We’ve only just packed everything away, but we’re already looking forward to being back next year.
To everyone who stopped by the stall, had a chat, made a purchase, or just said g’day — thank you for making it such a good weekend. And to the organisers and the Charters Towers community, you put on a great event.
